I had the privilege of working with Sue for 9 years. In that time she has proven herself to be an incredibly reliable and knowledgeable professional. She puts children at the heart of all of her decisions and only ever wants the very best for them. Sue has an in-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and how to move children through the different plans, effectively communicating with a range of professionals and parents along the way. Sue ensures that no stone is left unturned when designing support packages for children across the whole SEN spectrum, ensuring that a school has considered all avenues of support for each individual child.

Headteacher – Forest View Primary School
Sue is one of the most knowledgeable SENCO’s I have worked with. I first came to know her as an efficient Casework Officer in the Local Authority where she was always approachable and helpful. She then returned to a school in one of the area’s most deprived locations. Sue’s work in that school transformed special needs. She trained and managed an established team of TA’s who demonstrate excellent learning and inclusive practices. As part of the school leadership team Sue has broadened SEN understanding and in my opinion the school’s SEN is outstanding in its learning policies, management of learning needs and inclusivity. Also, Sue has successfully supported local secondary schools with policy and practice. Her depth of knowledge, patience and understanding is greatly appreciated.

Sue has worked with us as a consultant SENCO for a number of years. Her breadth of knowledge and organisation leads well for pop-in advice and support. She has completely re-organised our SEND provision allowing us to monitor it ourselves whilst knowing we can access her specialism and expertise whenever we need it. As a small school with a small number of staff having reliable specialist support is invaluable.
